In her PhD thesis, Yi-Jung Yang explores several topics related to black holes, ranging from stellar-mass to intermediate mass black holes in their quiescent to super-Eddington states. Yang also looks at stellar-mass black holes (or an unusual neutron star) accreting near or at super-Eddington rate, Ultraluminous X-ray sources (ULXs) and their optical associations, and the detection of a possible intermediate mass black hole (IMBH) in the centre of a blue compact dwarf galaxy.
