Human resources management (HRM) dates back to the start of the second industrial revolution (around 1875). Peter Blok's research aims to determine whether HRM is still a suitable tool in the effort to resolve the economic challenges of the 21st century. After all, the pillars of the economy have changed over the years. Essentially, the classic divide between capital and labour seems to have disappeared as a result of the knowledge economy.
