The development of pre-implantation embryos is fascinating from a scientific perspective due to the large amount of biological processes occurring within a short time. As a result of experiences with IVF, it is now known that the quality of embryos varies. This quality affects clinical outcomes, such as the success rate of IVF treatments. Eleni Mantikou studies the biology of pre-implantation embryo development in humans and the optimisation of embryo production.
