In her research, Daphne Roos evaluates the role of selective intestinal decontamination (SDD) - a technique to prevent infections - in elective gastro-enterological (gastrointestinal) surgery in conjunction with infectious complications after an operation. She also analyses the mortality, admission duration and the cost-effectiveness of SDD.
