As a part of her research, Laura Lee Dupuis describes the pharmacokinetic disposition of busulfan and cyclosporin, and the clinical relevance of these medicines to children undergoing a hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). As a part of the HSCT procedure, the patient's stem cells are replaced with stem cells from his/her own bone marrow or that of a donor. Dupuis develops instruments to facilitate the application of pharmacokinetics in patient care and the optimisation of supportive care for children undergoing chemotherapy.
