Jeroen Ludikhuize explores the implementation of Rapid Response systems (RRS). He conducts a Cost and Outcomes and Medical Emergency Teams (COMET) study to ascertain the effect on a patient level, as well as the clinical effectiveness. Ludikhuize describes, in two parts, the evidence underlying tools that were implemented to enhance the quality of care and early recognition of deteriorating patient on nursing wards compared to the period in which these were not available.
