Andrei Romakhin’s PhD thesis focuses on the Russian poet Vladimir Majakovski. He hereby explores the hidden meaning of the problem of the ‘book cover’: the pictorial-textual composition of the book cover does not only have utilitarian and decorative functions, but also reflects the author’s intentions and may even become a key to the understanding of the book.
