Laryngectomised patients (patients whose larynx has been removed) often suffer from bronchial problems because air inhaled through a tracheotomy tube (a tube in the windpipe) is not sufficiently warmed up and humidified. Cindy van den Boer examines the effects of heat and moisture exchangers that can be worn over tracheotomy tubes.
