The prevalence of diabetes among migrants from Southern Asia living in affluent countries is disproportionately high. Linda Vlaar is evaluating the feasibility of systematic diabetes screening and a culturally adapted lifestyle intervention for South Asians. In addition, she is comparing the effectiveness of a specific lifestyle intervention with that of general lifestyle advice.
