Kawasaki disease (KD) is an acute, medium-vessel vasculitis that predominantly occurs in children less than 5 years of age. The main complication of this disease is the development of coronary arteritis. Carline Tacke describes a number of studies about the different aspects of KD. The studies are focused on epidemiology, etiology, the treatment and long-term outcomes of this rare pediatric disease.
