Evidence-based medicine (EBM) is defined as the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in combination with the physician’s experience and preferences, and the patient’s preferences and situation, in making decisions about the care of individual patients. Esther van de Glind seeks ways to make the available evidence more accessible to clinicians and to develop opportunities to improve the use of EBM for geriatric medicine. In addition, she aims to create evidence tailored to geriatric patients by summarising individual patient data and by performing a randomised controlled trial.
