Malaria in pregnancy can have serious adverse consequences on maternal, newborn and child health. Jenny Hill explores the coverage of malaria in pregnancy interventions in Sub-Saharan Africa and the key factors affecting delivery, access and use from provider and use perspectives. Her aim is to develop methods for measuring programme and community effectiveness of interventions in programme settings, so as to provide a rational basis for strategies to improve coverage.
