Molecular simulations are essential for understanding fundamental electrochemical processes, such as electron and proton transfer mechanisms. Murat Kılıç explores how so-called flavins can be used as chemical model structure in molecular simulations. He chooses flavins as research topic because they are organic connections that can undergo redox reactions ( a reaction between atoms, molecules and/or ions in which electrons are exchanged).
