Saba Saeed's research involves studying silicon and germanium nanocrystals using optical spectroscopy. She is endeavouring to obtain deeper insight into the possible relaxation processes excited electrons are undergoing in these materials. New semi-conductor materials and concepts can, among other things, help generate higher solar cell output.
