The heart usually pumps blood through the left ventricle to the rest of the body. In patients with a systemic right ventricle, however, the right ventricle is responsible for supplying the body with adequate blood. Teun van der Bom focuses on the treatment and clinical course of adult patients with a systemic right ventricle. He also looks at the epidemiology of congenital heart disease in general.
