Gaseous radiation detectors are used for the reconstruction of charged particle trajectories in collider accelerators such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. Wilco Koppert subjects the GridPix, a gaseous detector in R&D phase, to a battery of tests with the aim of characterising the detector.
