Approximately 26 million foreigners visited China in 2013. Dineke Koerts analyses the content of the present English interpretation tools – information posters, audio tours, information brochures, guides – at five important tourist attractions in Beijing, including the Forbidden City and Summer Palace. She explores the extent to which key issues from government ideology are also communicated to English-speaking visitors.
