Research studies from the United States and New Zealand have shown the existence of ethnic inequalities in patient safety. Patients with a minority background seem to have a higher risk for Adverse Events (AEs) compared to the majority population. However, ethnic inequalities in patient safety have never been investigated empirically in Europe. Floor van Rosse investigates ethnic differences in patient safety in Dutch hospital care.
