A clinical association between cancer and venous thromboembolism (VTE) has been observed and documented. Cancer patients have a higher risk of developing VTE than patients without cancer. In addition, the presence of VTE can also represent the first manifestation of a yet undisclosed cancer. An important reciprocal relationship exists between cancer and VTE. Andrea Piccioli investigates the clinical correlation between these two diseases.
