Lara Mazurski analyses the way in which various discourses produce knowledge about the burqa. The politicisation of Islam has had numerous consequences, ranging from the introduction of laws limiting the use of a burga to the revocation of the nationality of those who wear it. Mazurski’s research is focused on the politicised way in which women who wear burqas are portrayed as potential threats.
