Progressive muscular atrophy (PMA) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) are forms of motor neuron disease. These diseases are progressive and most patients die as a result of respiratory insufficiency. Joost Raaphorst's research focuses on cognitive and behavioral symptoms and related neurological changes in PMA and ALS patients.
