In the 1980s the populations of Eastern and Western Europe held widely divergent views on the East-West conflict. Christie Miedema’s research focuses on the way in which left-wing organisations in the Netherlands and West Germany dealt with this situation and how they viewed the possibilities for starting an independent, transnational dialogue.
