Compared to the rest of the world, Sub-Saharan Africa bears a disproportionately high HIV burden, and understanding HIV epidemiology in this part of the world is essential for adequate planning of the national response to and monitoring of the disease at the population and individual patient levels. In his research, Tom Oluoch provides a description of HIV epidemiology in Kenya, including a systematic review of Electronic Medical Records and Clinical Decision Support Systems and the effects of their implementation in developing countries.
