Mandy de Wilde investigates the role played by affective or communitarian citizenship in the current approach to neighbourhood management in general, and specifically in the Slotermeer neighbourhood. She studies this process against the background of the government's nationwide Neighbourhood Renewal Policy, aimed at transforming disadvantaged areas through improved social cohesion. She also analyses the way this affects the relationship between citizens and authorities.
