G protein-coupled receptors are involved in translating signals from hormones, neurotransmitters, chemokines and a whole range of other molecules. A particular type of these receptors known as adhesion GPCRs are expressed in a variety of different cell types, including stem cells, progenitor cells, mature cells and tumour cells. Cheng-Chih Hsiao focuses on the regulation and function of the adhesion GPCRs CD97 and GPR56.
