The share of energy supplied to power grids by sustainable energy sources such as solar panels and wind turbines is increasing. Although this transition to more sustainable sources is desirable, it can affect the reliability of the power grid, as the amount of available energy is less predictable. Wander Wadman explores possibilities for developing calculation methods that would allow us to assess the reliability of power grids based on sustainable energy.
