Miriam Meissner uses the concept of myth to analyse representations of the global financial crisis of 2008. She focuses on ‘urban imaginaries’ in works of film, literature and photography about the crisis. She develops her concept of myth based on the theories of Claude Lévi-Strauss and Roland Barthes.
