In her research, Marjolein Sechterberger focused on glucose control in critically ill patients admitted to intensive care. She also looked at the effects of stress-induced hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) in relation to the coagulation system in patients with pulmonary embolism and in patients undergoing hip surgery.
