The goal of Samuel Oti’s thesis is to provide evidence of a double burden of disease, i.e. the coincidence of a high burden of both infectious and non-transferrable diseases within the same population, in the slums of Nairobi. The aim is to make a case for an integrated health systems approach as a way of tackling this problem.
