Amy Matser carries out multidisciplinary research into the epidemiology of sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections in high-risk populations. She relates this to the structure of the sexual network, the interaction between pathogens, morbidity and mortality. The datasets used in her research are based on study populations that were largely recruited at the STI outpatient clinic of the public health service GGD Amsterdam.
