The behaviour of an individual group member can provoke strong emotional reactions from other group members. Marc Heerdink studies the role that these emotional reactions play in the regulation of deviance and emotional influence processes in groups more generally. He investigates whether the deviant is affected by these emotional reactions, and, if so, in what way.
