Cholangiocarcinoma is a rare form of cancer that originates in the epithelial cells of the bile ducts. Jimme Wiggers studies tumours that arise near the confluence of the bile ducts, which are known as perihilar cholangiocarcinomas. The aim of his research is to provide recommendations and clinical decision rules for tailored care in patients where the perihilar cholangiocarcinoma can be treated through surgical resection.
