Composite materials are composed of two or more materials with significantly different properties, which are mixed to improve their properties. The most common composites used today are concrete and filled metals or rubbers. Marius Mermet-Guyennet studies the properties of filled rubbers. His aim is to gain a better understanding of how the micro-structure of these composite materials is linked to their mechanical behaviour.
