Mathias Madsen’s research is about the concept of thought. He presents a series of case studies that critically examine how this concept is put to work in human sciences such as linguistics, psychology, logic, statistics and artificial intelligence. He sees each of these sciences as an expression of a specific conception of what a human being is. He looks at each of these underlying theories, examines the evidence supporting it and asks how our conclusions might change if we were to change the underlying anthropological assumptions.
