Computerised clinical decision support is a promising tool for improving quality of care. these are systems that help in making clinical decisions. This can be a conscious decision, as in the case of a patient choosing between treatment options, or an unconscious decision, such as a reminder to a specialist to send a letter to the general practitioner after a consultation. In her research, Stephanie Medlock aims to lay the groundwork for building effective decision support systems to support clinicians in caring for older patients, and help older patients to participate in their own care.
