In his research, Lodewijk Pessers focuses on the inventiveness requirement in patent law. He tries to shed light on how this intricate subject has developed from its earliest beginnings up to the present day. One of the questions he addresses is whether we can identify social, economic and/or political forces that have determined or influenced the specific historical course of the inventiveness concept.
