Poliomyelitis is an infectious disease caused by the poliovirus. Barbara Sanders’s research is aimed at improving the existing inactivated vaccine for poliomyelitis (IPV) to produce a safe and affordable vaccine that can help eradicate poliomyelitis. She focuses on the six inactivated vaccines that are currently on the market and those that are currently in development.
