Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) is a major health problem affecting large numbers of people worldwide. The major goals of therapy for CHB patients are the prevention of progression to irreversible liver damage. Current therapies are sub-optimal, as they can result in adverse reactions and resistance on the part of the hepatitis B virus. Annikki de Niet explores new treatment strategies for CHB patients.
