The aim of Miruna Doicaru's research is to increase our understanding of two main forms of narrative absorption in film, story world absorption and artifact absorption. Story-world absorption represents the feeling of being transported into the story of the film, while the second form absorption in the film device, i.e. the way the film is made, similar to the experience of an observer in an art exhibition.
