Spondyloarthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the axial skeleton, the peripheral joints and extra-articular organs such as the eye, gut and skin. In her research, Maureen Turina studies the potential role of biomarkers in measuring inflammation, which can be used to address major clinical challenges such as early diagnosis, prediction and measurement of treatment responses, and prognosis.
