These days a billion people travel to international destinations annually, and this number is still growing. To limits the associated health risks, Rosanne Wieten analysed the data of the Amsterdam Medical Centre’s travel clinic and carried out research among travellers at Schiphol airport. She makes suggestions aimed at improving travel-related medical guidelines for rabies, yellow fever and hepatitis A, and stimulating the use of malaria tablets.
