Domenico Bonocore’s research focuses on the Drell-Yan process. In hadron colliders such as the one at CERN, protons collide and many particles are created and detected as final states. The Drell-Yan process describes a particular outcome for such collisions when the final particles include a lepton-antilepton pair. These are particles that are insensitive to the nuclear force, like that of muons and electrons.
