Glycosphingolipids are an important component of the cell membranes of mammals. They play a role in processes including the regulation of cell differentiation, the development of the central nervous system and the growth of tumours. André Marques developed a new toolbox of techniques for studying Glycosphingolipids and the diseases they are involved in.
