Zambia was struck by an HIV/aids epidemic in the late 1980s. Joseph Simbaya how care practices in the country have evolved since then. He looks at the interactions between a whole range of actors, including patients, their friends and family, local health providers and officials, policy makers, NGOs and transnational organisations, and how these shaped these changing practices.
