Colorectal cancer is traditionally treated using a combination of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. As conventional chemotherapeutics target healthy cells as well as tumour cells, the development of new targeted versions is promising. Cheryl Zimberlin’s aim is to gain a better insight into the fundamental changes that occur during the genesis of tumours, to aid the development of targeted drug therapies.
