Matthé Scholten provides a Kantian answer to the question as to when it would be appropriate to hold agents morally responsible for their morally wrong actions. Inspired by the Strawsonian approach to moral responsibility, Scholten attempts to bring to the fore the conditions for moral blameworthiness by reconstructing a Kantian account of excuses and exemptions.
