Creating storytelling machines poses one of the grand challenges in artificial intelligence, involving computer vision, natural language processing and machine learning. To be able to reconstruct the story of a video, a machine needs to be able to identify a comprehensive vocabulary of concepts as they appear in the video. Amirhossein Habibian investigates what kind of vocabulary is suited to this purpose.
