As an entrepreneur you have to work hard, while the chance that all that hard work will actually pay off is low. What drives people to become entrepreneurs despite these poor prospects? Are entrepreneurs fundamentally different from others when it comes to behavioural traits such as risk appetite, optimism, and a more intuitive decision-making style? Martin Koudstaal’s research aims to test the validity of such common assumptions about entrepreneurs and gain greater insight into their unique behavioural traits in comparison to other occupational groups.
