Expectations are that the number of people suffering from dementia will increase in future as a result of the aging world population. As it is not yet possible to treat dementia, preventing the disease is an important focus. Lisa Eurelings explores the relationship between cardiovascular health and the development of dementia. She investigates whether interventions targeting cardiovascular disease can help delay or even prevent dementia.
