The use of nanotechnology for medical purposes (a practice know as nanomedicine) has grown exponentially over the past few decades. Although originally the domain of anticancer therapy, recent advances have shown the considerable potential role of nanomedicine in diagnosing and treating atherosclerosis. Mark Lobatto's research focuses on atherosclerotic disease and nanoparticle-targeting concepts and provides an insight into the use of imaging and nanomedicine in atherosclerosis.
